C3i - a great partner for autologous T cell manufacturing
When I worked with C3i, they were a small outfit out of Canada, however, they were very knowledgeable and experience in the area of T cell manufacturing. They were skilled, collaborative, and competen, and a pleasure to work with. There manufacturin...g, analytical and QC groups were great, especially Radia, who I believe ran the manufacturing operation. We used a 10 max G-rex flask based process and although there were issues with patient-to-patient variability that impacted culture outputs and lead to failures, there were rarely ever operational issues that impacted batches. That was significant giving it was a very manual and open process with lots of touch points. As I recall, they were reasonably priced compared to the other CDMO's we evaluated. They were flexible, could accomodate requests and implement them rather fast, including changes to suite configurations, onboarding and validating new equipment, etc. They were communicative and quick to contact us when there was an issue. They always called with suggestions on how to fix the problem, were proactive and did not just rely on us to tell them what to do. It was not a problem that our HQ was based in California and they were located in Montreal. I dont have any real complaints from my time interfacing with C3i that I can remember. I would give them an 8/10, a great CGT CDMO to partner with if your a small-medium size biotech who needs to outsource cell therapy manufacturing.
